ABOUT IF NOBODY KNEW
Conceived in the narrow aisles of used record stores and born in a dusty, beer stained studio in San Rafael, California, if nobody knew is possessed by a trash can indie soul with a post-punk intensity that has been compared to The Stooges, Talking Heads, Siouxie & the Banshees, Muse... & so on. Their songs are trapped between the intellectual need to be melodic and mellow, and the instinctual urge to be spastic and strange.
Like butterflies escaping a train wreck, if nobody knew is it's own pretty accident. The four boys in the band grew up together in and around San Francisco. They moved, lived, and played together in L.A. under a different band name and garnered the attention of several different major labels. Not convinced by any of the offers made, they packed & moved back up to San Francisco with a new, fresh direction to take their music.
With one full-length, self titled album already pressed and spinning its way through the vast expanses of i-Tunes & falling into the hands of fanatic concert goers, if nobody knew is currently in the post-production stage of their latest recording endeavor entitled, female.

REVIEWS
"Pained and gorgeous, the band's sound was alternatingly swelling and holting, heralded by Brandon Burkart's falsetto and punctuated by swirling keys and textural nuances. If Nobody Knew stuck to an anthemic chord, ultimately climaxing with "Blonde Scrapings." – Katherine Hoffert, Performer Magazine
"Rock music that grooves like the late 80's and haunts like Hitchcock" –Facing New York |
